About Word Maker
A plain anagram round. Six letters are dealt, and behind them sits a fixed list of everything three letters and upward that they will spell. The short answers come quickly; the round is decided by whether you find the five- and six-letter words buried among them. Shuffling the tiles is worth doing often, because a fresh arrangement breaks the reading your eye has settled into and tends to shake one more word loose. Clear the whole list and the round is swept.
How to Play
Tap out an answer of at least three letters, then confirm it. Each letter may be used once per word. Find every word on the round's list to sweep it. Shuffle the tiles whenever you stall.
💡 Tips & Strategy
Build from the longest word down. Finding the full-length word first tells you the letter set works together, and nearly every shorter answer is a fragment of it.
Work the prefixes and suffixes deliberately. RE, UN, IN and DIS at the front, and ING, ED, ERS, EST and ION at the back, account for a large share of any answer list once you have a root.
Pair consonants that travel together. CH, SH, TH, ST, TR and PL are the openings most English words use, so testing them against the remaining vowels finds words faster than random combination.
When stuck, count your vowels. A set heavy in vowels favours longer words; a set short of them means most answers are four letters or fewer, and knowing which you are in changes where you look.
