About Word Rush
A grid of letters in which words are traced by joining neighbouring tiles in any direction, diagonals included. An accepted word removes its own letters, the tiles above collapse into the gap, and the board reshapes itself — so no position lasts more than a few seconds. Each level sets a number of tiles to clear before it lets you on. The skill is partly vocabulary and largely visual: seeing the board that a clearance will leave behind is worth more than knowing an extra long word.
How to Play
Drag from letter to touching letter — sideways, upright or diagonally — to spell something of three letters or more. Accepted words vanish, and the tiles overhead drop into the space they leave. Meet the level's tile target to advance.
💡 Tips & Strategy
Type the short words first when the clock is running. Three and four letter words bank points immediately, and the rhythm of scoring keeps you moving rather than freezing on one long attempt.
Then work the endings. Adding S, ED, ER and ING to a word you have already found is the cheapest way to extend a run, and it uses letters you have already proved are available.
Scan for the high-value letters. If the set contains a J, Q, X or Z, the words using them are worth disproportionately more, so spend a moment finding one before returning to the easy words.
Shuffle when you stall. Seeing the same arrangement repeatedly locks your perception into the words you have already found, and a re-shuffle costs nothing but breaks the fixation.
