About Word Search
A list of themed words is concealed in a block of letters, running horizontally, vertically and diagonally, with reversed entries on the harder settings. Finding them is a scanning exercise rather than a vocabulary one: the eye learns to sweep for unusual opening letters and for letter pairs that rarely occur by accident. Themes take in animals, food, geography and more, and three grid sizes suit either a short sitting or a longer hunt. A small number of hints are held in reserve for the last stubborn entry.
How to Play
Sweep across a run of letters to mark a word, or select its opening and closing letter. Words may run in any direction, and reversed entries appear at higher difficulty. The round ends when every word on the list has been marked.
💡 Tips & Strategy
Hunt letters rather than words. Pick the rarest letter in your target — J, Q, X, Z, K or W — and sweep the grid for it; a word with an unusual letter is usually found in seconds this way, while reading every line looking for the whole word takes far longer.
For words without a distinctive letter, scan for the first two letters as a pair. Your eye picks up a specific two-letter combination much more reliably than a single common letter, and pairs like TH, CH or QU are quick to spot.
Sweep systematically by direction. Do a pass for horizontals, then verticals, then each diagonal, rather than jumping around — the grid stops feeling random once you are only looking one way at a time.
On harder levels with reversed words, remember that a backwards word still reads forwards from its other end. Scanning for the last two letters of a word is exactly as effective as scanning for the first, and it catches the reversals you would otherwise miss.
