About Slide Out
A red block is boxed in by others and has to reach the exit on the right-hand side. Each block travels only along its own axis, so freeing the target is a question of sequence: which obstruction must move first, and where the blocks displaced by that move will then sit. This is the classic sliding-block problem sold in shops as Rush Hour, and it punishes the obvious first move more often than not. Positions are generated and confirmed by a solver, so every board can be finished, and the move counter provides a second goal once a level has been beaten.
How to Play
Each block slides only along its own axis: those lying across the board go left and right, those standing go up and down. No block passes through another. Clear the lane on the right and slide the red block out.
💡 Tips & Strategy
Work out which block is actually blocking. The target needs a clear path to the exit, so start from the exit and trace backwards — the piece to move first is rarely the one nearest the target.
Plan the whole sequence before your first move. Nearly every puzzle requires moving a piece temporarily out of the way and back, and discovering that after ten moves means undoing all ten.
Vertical pieces are the real currency. They can only move up and down, so their positions dictate where the horizontal pieces can pass — solve the vertical arrangement and the rest usually follows.
When stuck, count the free space. Very tight boards have only one legal order of moves, and identifying the single square everything must pass through tells you what has to move first.
